Marcel Delmotte (Belgian, 1901–1984) was born in Charleroi and trained under Léon Van den Houten at the Free Workshop of the University of Labor. Initially a realist, he evolved toward Expressionism and Symbolism, developing a unique visual language characterized by mythic allegory, cosmic geometry, and emotional abstraction.

His paintings evoke both the metaphysical stillness of Paul Delvaux and the futuristic imagination of early modernism. Delmotte’s works have been exhibited across Belgium and France and are included in major European collections for their visionary depth and masterful technique.
